Meet our Team
Dr Katie Green
Branch Manager/Veterinary SurgeonBVSc (Hons) MRCVS
Katie qualified from Bristol University in 2003 and worked in mixed practice in Cornwall before joining the Willows Veterinary Group. After working in one of our sister branches, Katie made the move to Broom Cottage and became Branch Manager. Katie enjoys all aspects of dog and cat medicine and general practice and gets great job satisfaction being privy to the incredible bond between pet and owner.
Katie lives at home with her family and a vast array of pets including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, goats and sheep. Katie’s oldest pet Tilly has been with her since she graduated and is a rather cheeky and independent Patterdale Terrier, who still keeps Katie on her toes. Katie also has a trio of cats called Thunder, Ginger and Socks, two guinea-pigs called Lulu and Wiggy, three pygmy goats (who love to escape and eat Katie’s garden) and six sheep.
Dr Georgie Waller
Georgie graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2017 and worked at a first opinion and hospital practice in South Manchester for four years before joining the lovely team at Broom Cottage in 2021. Georgie is interested in all areas of small animal general practice and helping your well-loved family pets. She has particular interests in feline medicine, ophthalmology and anaesthesia.
Outside of work, she has two little tortoiseshell rescue cats found through Broom (perk of the job!) called Bramble and Fern. She also enjoys spending time outdoors riding and competing in dressage with her horse Pearl.
Dr Rachael Middleton
Rachael graduated in 2009 and worked in Dubai for 6 years with small animals, falcons and zoo animals before returning to the UK in 2015.
Before joining the team at Broom Cottage, Rachael worked as a small animal vet in Hertfordshire and Derbyshire.
She has a Jack Russell cross Beagle and loves to go on hiking breaks in her free time.
Alison qualified a veterinary nurse in 1991 and has been working in the industry ever since. Although Alison is passionate about all animals, she really enjoys the customer care side of her job and meeting new people. At home, Alison lives on a farm with cows, sheep and chickens in addition to her 2 dogs and cat.
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Lucy is the newest member of the team at Broom Cottage and has recently completed her level 2 Veterinary Care Assistant qualification. Lucy is extremely passionate about the job and is hoping to start training towards her veterinary nurse qualification in 2018. At home, Lucy has a young Cockapoo called Alfie, who is equal parts affectionate and mad and a Dwarf lop rabbit called Bella.
